ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ATARI), Jodhpur is one of the 11 ICAR-ATARIs formerly known as Zonal Project Directorates (ZPDs) functioning under Division of Agricultural Extension. ICAR has established a vast network of KVKs all over the country under the administrative control of various ICAR institutes, State Agricultural Universities (SAUs), State Department of Agriculture, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and other institutes for implementing the central governmental projects/schemes. In the Zone, 7 Agricultural Technology Information Centres (ATICs) are working for delivering the “Single Window” delivery system. Since, Zonal Project Directorate has been elevated as ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ATARI), the mandates of ICAR-ATARI has also been changed where socio-economic research is one of the integral components.

Services

In last two year 210 training courses were organized on various subject for 6462 participants 4086 farmers 1520 farmwomen, 528 youth and 328 extension functionaries.

  • In all 76 sponsored training were organized of various deptt. and agency i.e. ATMA, IARI. NIAM, NAFED, RSLDC, Department of Horticulture etc.
  • With the financial assistance of Rajasthan Mission of skill and livelihood development 9 long term training (1 to 3 month) were organized for unemployed educated rural youth for subject like Tractor Repairing, Maintenance of Plant Protection Equipment, Preservation of Fruit and Vegetable and Ladies Tailor.
  • In these years KVK has conducted Twelve OFT on various subject like Integrated nutrient management onion, yield stagnation in Barley, Nutritional Management in gram, Hightech horticulture Tomato, Supplement nutrition cum feeding program for malnourished children, Relative advantage of improve weeding implement production of protective food by developing of nutrition garden. Results of various OFTs are very encouraging, can be used for developing package practices for various crop production.
  • Production of total seed on KVK Instructional farm ln last Two years 520 Qtl of Wheat, Barley, Mustard, Gram, Methi, Guar and lentil.
  • Under extension activities in all 19 field days were organized for 2527 farmers farm women, 5 Kishan Mela, 5742 participants, 900 soil sample, 50 water sample were tested. Kishan Goshthi 12. Exhibition-10, farmers Scientist interaction 8 organized with many other extension activities.
  • Shri Hukam Singh Lodha, farmer of sitara village awarded best innovative farmer and received award form hon'ble president on 6th March 2015.
  • Technology week were celebrated on five different theme like diversification of agriculture, water management, value addition, health and nutrition.In all 337 farmers and farm women from 22 village sparticipated.
  • Impact assessment of various KVK activities shows that farmers are also taking seed production program. Yield of various crop increasing year by year, Inspite of having worst climate and water condition.
  • Under National Iniciative of climate Resilinet project KVK achived 95% target of all planned activities specially tube well recharging (100%) and crop production and spray of thio-urea, seed treatment. It is remarkable to note that crop production in Kharif and Rabi yield increased significantly. With regard of Livestock management under NICRA Project milk production increased significantly due to balance feed/mineral mixture/urea molasis/dewarming medetion are provided regularly to all cattles of village.
  • It is remark by ZMC committee that KVK achievements in NICRA is “Excellent” other achievements were 25 Roof water harvesting structure built, customer hiring implement and farm machinery running successfully. Fifty to sixty percent implemented technologies adopted by farmers.
  • KVK Kumher awarded best KVK Award by SKNAU Jobner, and also awarded Best Agriculture exhibition in DRMR & ATMA Kisan Mela.
  • It is remark by Hon'ble Vice Chancellor SKNAU Jobner Sh. H.S. Bhati, IAS D.C. Jaipur that KVK Kumher performed best amongs University KVKs.
